‘Cold’ was something that was really really rare, even in winter, though the area was more unseasonably cool than actually cold. ‘Leftover effects from the latest battle between Chaac and the Black Streak’ the news said.... Those two were at it all night, apparently, and luckily, pretty far away from where she had slept. Normally she wouldn’t have cared about some fight between hero and villain on the other side of the city, but because of it, the morning was especially pleasant for her. As much she was used to the heat by now, something about her just preferred the cold; she didn’t know what or why, she was just always happy to find a cool building.
At the same time, though, Hong Kong was starting to get to her. The noise, the lights... been a lot of fighting lately, too, more than usual, and she didn’t mind the fighting so much as the fighting near her... two times in the last week she was caught up like everyone else in a fight! She couldn’t exactly move out of the city, but....
Finally taking a breath, not realizing that she had been holding it so deep in her thoughts, she turned her head, looking over her shoulder out the window to the nature park sitting in the rapidly closing distance. It wasn’t exactly outside of the city, but most of it was, and it was big enough to be away from everything she wanted to get away from. Her pink-hued eyes blinked when a raindrop hit the window, staring in surprise for a moment, before a soft pitter-patter began to fall, making a soft smile curl her lips ever so upward, hugging her tan backpack closer to her chest as she waited, watching the rain drip down the window as the train continued to take her to her destination.
The Nature of Nature
When the train finally stopped at her destination, Luzia stepped out and looked up. The sky was a shade of gray that she had come to like, a bright gray that came from an overcast morning, which almost matched her hoodie, aged and stained as it was. It was a light rain, letting her pull her hood off, running her hands through her pink hair just a little bit. Stretching her legs in her aged denim jeans just a bit, she began to walk away from the train and into nature, pausing for only a moment when she felt her faded orange sneakers sink into the dirt just slightly. The weather control must have made it rain all night... but at least it was a really gentle rain now.
She wandered for some time, just following the pathways, enjoying the emptiness, the rain, the quiet... for once, she was actually almost happy. It was a very odd feeling to her, but she didn’t mind it. She didn’t mind much of anything right now... the fresh air and scent of nature... the sound of the rain and the animals... the feel of the water in her hair and on her clothes... the grays of the sky and the greens around her – which could use a little splash of red in her opinion, but she was content for the moment. She could almost taste the freshness of the air and the trees and grass. It was definitely different than the smoggy dirtiness of the city.
Eventually, she found herself on a small hill, looking up at a shrine. It wasn’t too big, but she climbed up anyway, resting her legs as she sat on the few steps. A small clatter got her attention, turning her head towards the inside, but, seeing that it was just some clumsy girl stretching an arm across the room to fix some incense, Luzia turned her attention back to the park, pulling her legs up to her chest, resting her chin on her knees, and letting herself stare into space as she got absorbed in the rain.
