"Hrmm.."
On a creaky bed, in a bright little morning.. a sleepy head finally stuck her head out from under her covers. The blonde haired girl that was peeking out from the fuzzy blanket had to blink her eyes a few times.. trying to really process where she was.
.. Huh..
She looked around her.. her expression a bit confused blinking and her eyes growing a bit wide. "Is so... big.." Everything was big. Nothing was right.
And then it hit her again like it did every so often the last couple of years. No. This was right.. she was..
She crawled over towards the other end of the bed, her small form slipping from the blanket and leaving it huddled over towards the pillow. As she did, she popped her thumb out of her mouth.. pulling the front her nightgown and using it wiping it clean. "Eeehhh...." she whined, her face turning red with embarrassment as the shame from having sucked her thumb while she slept started burning itself in her thoughts, the heat radiating from her cheeks.
Getting to the end of the bed, she put one foot on the floor and then the next.. her bare feet making just the tiniest little creak on the wooden floor. She didn't recognize the inn she was staying at, but it most certainly was NOT the palace she had grown up in. The palace she still expected to see when she woke up this morning, for some reason.
She toddled over towards the end of the room and faced the full length mirror in the quaint little room.. and everything reflected on it was wrong. Although it was cute and charming in a rustic sort of way, with a cute little bouquet of flowers on the night desk, the room filled with early morning light was.. small. And so was the little girl that stood in the mirror.
She whined at the sight of her. Her body betraying her and her cheeks inflating petulantly at the sight. "I'm a grown up.." she muttered at the reflection, denying the truth it tried to give her. It was really unfair. It was all Sophia's fault, the girl she had always scolded for being such a kid. It was her fault that she woke up like this. It was her fault she looked like this, and was waking up at nearly brunch time. She always used to be able to wake up early before.. and do all kinds of important stuff before breakfast..
She looked back at the bed.. not wanting to admit how nice more sleep sounded.. 5.. more minutes?
She shook her head, her messy mop of hair fluttering about. She pushed her hands to her cheeks. Nuu. She was a grown up. She was responsible! The instincts of the spell had been getting really really hard to fight, but she was Princess Cheris!
"Big brotherrrr!" she whined loudly, her shrill, squeaky, and chirpy little voice filling through halls of the inn. It was lucky it was so late and she wouldn't be waking up any other patrons! She hadn't really thought of that at all, she just knew she wanted Risol here. She also didn't think about how she had called him "big brother" again.. despite a lifetime of referring to him respectfully by name and title.
They were going to visit the magical library today.. right? Or.. was that tomorrow? It was hard to remember such things when one was still half asleep. Maybe a bit more rubbing the sleep out of her eyes and yawning might help!
(Thinking it's morning, spring, warm, clear. About 10am? Inn, mostly empty.. first time visiting this town? But perhaps one we are familiar with by association, somewhere nearby we never got around to actually seeing ourselves?)
