Meta Knight
N/A | Male |
Unknown | Unknown |
appearance
The masked swordsman of Dreamland is never seen without his signature steel grey mask which covers his facial features. Only his glowing eyes can be seen from under the heavy metal. While normally his eyes shine a bright yellow white, they have been known to change color based on his mood, which is one of the few reliable indications of his emotional state. Meta Knight is physically similar to Kirby. He is a round navy blue ball with large eyes, though is a bit larger than the pink puff ball and is just as light. It is even possible that Meta Knight is the same species as Kirby, which might explain the similarities though he appears to lack Kirby’s signature inhale and copy abilities. Meta Knight also wears the dimensional cape, which apparently has the ability to not only transform into bat like wings to support the warrior in air, but also has teleportation capabilities. Along with the dimensional cape, Meta Knight is the wielder of another item of power, the Sword Galaxia. Galaxia is a four pronged golden sword with a ruby set in the hilt of the guard when it is phased into existence. The hilt is kept in a small simply sheath on his right side, held up by a courtesy of a belt. He seems to have some sense of color coordination as his violet sabatons match the color of the dimensional cape and he wears dark pauldrons that bear his own insignia. While he doesn’t have much shoulder to protect, his mask is attached to his pauldrons which explains how it manages to remain on his face during combat. While not in combat, Meta Knight tends to wrap his cape around himself, perhaps as to not trip on it. He stands at about two and a half feet at most.
personality
Meta Knight is aloof and distant, he rarely interferes with others around him let alone deign to meddle in other’s affairs. He has been called cold hearted in part because he tends to keep himself isolated from others the majority of the time. While it might be considered harsh to let others fend for themselves even when he does possess the ability to help, he seems to firmly believe that one must take responsibility for their actions and take the consequences. It is a philosophy that for the most part he seems to follow himself. On a personal level, Meta Knight is rather passive, he doesn’t tend to interfere much in his allies or for that fact his foes lives unless he deems it necessary. His interference usually extends to giving out advice or warnings though he has been known to intervene if the situation is dire enough. Most of the time. Or else he’ll indirectly interfere, keeping his known involvement minimal. This is not to say that he will ignore a cry for help, he just has a certain way of going about offering his aid. He does also have the unfortunate belief that true strength can only be achieved when one is pushed to their limits, though he does not apply this principle to everyone. He places great value on personal strength, which is not just measured in terms of physical fighting capabilities. While he does care for others, in particular his own men, Kirby, and yes even perhaps King Dedede, though he does not often verbalize this well. Affection is... at times difficult for him to display, let alone communicate properly. He is a highly private individual, showing a great deal of emotion in general let alone in public is extremely difficult, especially affection. He is of a stoic, serious nature and is patient. He doesn’t tend to allow his emotions to overwhelm him and due to his experience is difficult to take by surprise... though if one does manage even he can be flustered, badly. Meta Knight is a guarded individual and is perhaps not unsurprisingly a bit suspicious. While he isn’t pushy, he does have a tendency to pry and is intuitive, often following up on his suspicions.
He often leaves those around him... confused as he only shares his wisdom when he feels that it is absolutely necessary, which has even brought him into conflict with his own allies. Reserved as he is, he tends to weigh his words carefully. At least he usually is rather polite and honest. Arguably, his motives are better judged by his deeds, but... there are times where his actions are almost as contradictory. It can be difficult to discern Meta Knight’s intentions for this very reason for both allies and foes, as he does not seem to be interesting in clarifying his actions most of the time until after the fact. Considering that his... allies consist of a young pink puffball and a self-important self-crowned ambiguous penguin king, he might just be saving himself the trouble. Not that Meta Knight is much of a conversationalist to begin with. He is more of an observer than a speaker, only voicing his concerns when he is sure that they are valid. His observational skills are top notch, yet, because he spends most of his time is spent watching, his furthers the idea that he is aloof. It is quite possible that Meta Knight does not associate much with Dreamland’s residents in part because of their care free life style, there is a natural disconnect. He isn’t entirely the loner that he tries to portray himself to be though for the most part he does tend to keep to himself. Yet, he does enjoy the company of a few select individuals. Even then, he still has his secrets among his closest friends and isn’t the most cooperative.
As serious of an individual as he is perhaps surprisingly he has a sense of humor. A rather punny sense of humor, which tends to be more prominent around those that have managed to gain his trust or... his approval. Some of his other hobbies might make an appearance when he feels comfortable. Apparently, Meta Knight can actually sew and cook, though he isn’t much of a chef... actually his cooking might only be slightly better than Kawasaki’s, but a warrior cannot be so picky when it comes to meals. It might actually be advantageous to keep to the sweets... he apparently enjoys them as he has caches of them and it is arguably less hazardous to one’s health. However, it might be best just to accept the token as otherwise you risk offending him. While even keeled and calm, he has the capacity to hold grudges, some of which might surface years after the original insult or injury.
He is a proud warrior, confident in his fighting capabilities and is generally confident in himself. However, much like a knight that his name implies he is, he has a sense of honor.... Even as an enemy he is “fair”. He prefers to engage in combat one on one, in a duel. Likewise, he will rarely fight an unarmed foe and has even offered a blade to his enemies. He is well aware of the value of sacrifice and has placed himself in harm’s way in the defense of dreamland on multiple occasions. He also seems to disapprove of the use of unnecessary force particularly against noncombatants such as civilians and children, finding it disgraceful. Similarly, he seems to dislike tyrants, and those that would censor the truth, though this might go hand in hand for his seeming distaste for ignorance and laziness. However, Meta Knight is morally ambiguous, he has been known to ignore his own morals in the face of a greater threat. He is willing to play under handed if the situation requires it and has through his own inaction notably endangered all of Popstar for the “greater good” when his honor should have rightfully demanded that he ended the threat. Likewise he has placed several individuals into extreme danger due to his own misjudgment of a situation. He has pushed the boundaries of his own honor in arguably the name of necessity to the point where he declared war on Dreamland for its own good and it would not be wrong to deem him a hypocrite. In fact he is, considering that while he seems to enjoy reading, he might also enjoy watching TV more than he should... and yet, he says he despises the lazy lifestyle. Or else it is merely habit, watching mindless television. While he may be entirely honorable, he is not entirely subjected to upholding it and is more ruled by reason than anything else. Unlike many residents of Popstar, he has developed a sense of foresight, and is able to plan far ahead. Once again this is almost hypocritical of him considering how passive he is in regards to day to day living as he is surprisingly proactive against outside threats. Actually, he might care a great deal more for Dreamland and by extension Popstar than he lets on....
Suffice to say, Meta Knight seems to be rather conscious of his image... in fact he probably suffers from image issues given that the only circumstance that will cause this old warrior to flee is when his mask breaks. Otherwise, he’ll stand his ground and can be extremely stubborn. This odd behavior combined with his affinity for heights which notably places him above others seem to further this notion that he’s a tad bit embarrassed. Or maybe he just wants to be taken seriously, which is difficult considering his natural appearance. Despite this skittishness, Meta Knight appears to be pursuing strength for his own end, actively challenging himself. Given a chance to wish for anything, he would wish for a duel with the strongest warrior.... Though is it as simple as that?
background
(Mention – Everything is pretty much canon, including the anime, because Kirby doesn’t really have a canon. Though, Brawl isn’t explicitly mentioned it is also canon, there was just no place to put it where it felt like it might actually fit. As is Mass Attack. +Headcanons hahaha, kill me)
Because everyone else is doing it
Tens of thousands of years ago, in the galaxy home to the small planet Popstar, one man built an empire that eventually would come close to ruling all of space. Nightmare, behind the mask of the Holy Nightmare Corporation, was the undisputed ruler in the shadows who toyed with the denizens while creating innumerable monsters known as demon beasts, selling them to the highest bidder for his own amusement. His buyers were dictators, people with the wealth and desire for such power, but lacking the scruples to obtain their own strength. Though he did not reveal himself, Nightmare’s presence was felt in every corner of the galaxy as he sent demon beasts everywhere to assert his control. Yet, Nightmare’s victims were not only those that fell to these demon beasts, but there were those that fell under his sway in moments of personal weakness. The galaxy was more or less his playground, yet, his success did not last indefinitely. Eventually, there appeared those that sought to oppose his ways. The very first resistance that Nightmare encountered was small, but it was his own failed creation that stood against his powers, the first named star warrior. His rage was great for his own creation dared to defy him. Yet, it was not unnoticed, those that cherished what little freedom that they had managed to maintain under Nightmare’s rule began to band together. United, this rebellion was known as the Galaxy Soldier Army which fought alongside Star Warriors, the later forming the elite. In Earnest the battle against Nightmare’s reign of terror began.
Led by Sir Arthur, Meta Knight was a solider for the Galaxy Solider Army and was one of the few affiliated with the Star Warriors. The strongest solider of the Galaxy Solider Army, Garlude and Meta Knight were sent to retrieve the sacred blade Galaxia from the demon beast, Kirisakin, that had stolen it countless years ago. Though it had been stolen long ago by the demon beast, the blade lay dormant which prevented Nightmare from utilizing the potential of the blade. Kirisakin’s hide was too thick to be harmed by advanced weaponry... and though Meta Knight successfully retrieved the sword, the blade came at a price. Garlude, having been deemed ill fit to wield the blade sacrificed her life to complete the mission... knowing through the blade that it had chosen its rightful owner. The mission came before any notions such as revenge, and Kirisakin lived as the legendary blade was carried away. It was... the nature of the war, the loss of one such warrior was felt even. There was a bitter comfort in knowing that Nightmare’s attempts to utilize the blade had been thwarted... if the demon had managed, the war would have ended. Or rather it might as well have never occurred at all.
It was a victory, one of many victories, though they lost their value as the war had no end in sight. In victory, there was confidence and the possibility of maybe, of hope. Their numbers grew, slowly, as small victories began to accumulate. That confidence lead to lapse in vigilance. It was a simple mission, they were strong, but, in the middle of the night there was a swarm of demon beasts that descended upon the camp, their guard relaxed. It was honorable to die in the line of duty, it was not unexpected, but, in that lapse of judgement Meta Knight lost his best friend. A good man, another star warrior that had gone beyond his duty and had inspired others, saved their lives ever while serving as a mentor. He was gone. Except that wasn’t entirely the case. He reappeared later and then there was no choice. His best friend had survived with a sole regret, because that sole regret had been twisted. The desire to live allowed him to be manipulated and thus, the true horror of Nightmare’s capabilities came to light for his best friend had become nothing more than a mindless demon beast pursuing that last regret. Logic is a strange beast, it demanded his best friend’s death as otherwise the strong warrior would rampage and who better than to deliver it than Meta Knight himself? You could almost say it was his duty to do so. It was a father’s love for his son that had the source of his regret for in death he would had left behind an infant with no father. Only at death’s door was the power over his friend broken to know the truth of his... condition. It was a harsh blow to know that even the best of them could be lain so low and to be twisted by what should have been pure. His friend wasn’t the only one who fell, and no one was immune.
Yet, there still had to be hope. If there wasn’t then each sacrifice would in time become seemingly meaningless. Except, now there was a lingering question of who would be the next to fall to regret, to anger, to revenge...?
Unfortunately, Nightmare possessed a neigh inexhaustible supply of demon beasts... and even the strongest of warriors fell prey to them, with fewer and fewer able or willing to take up the cause. It had become a game of numbers, and when even the best of them could fall, distrust grew in the ranks. The optimism that had fueled the army had dwindled, morale lowered as the future looked bleak. The cause might have been noble, but it began to dawn on some members that this war could cost them everything, not just their lives, but their homes as some planets were so torn up by the war that the inhabitants could barely manage to feed themselves. It was also a game of resources, the Holy Nightmare Corporation could promise to remake these worlds, could promise a great deal and seemingly deliver on them. Of course it wasn’t so easy as that, there was a cost, a hidden cost, but, survival was a powerful instinct. It was in this bleakness that there was a defection from the army, the leader of a group of highly specialized warriors, of ninjas, brokered a deal with Nightmare to save his own skin. Yamikage’s betrayal led to the decimation of the army. Locations, installations, sensitive information was placed into Nightmare’s hands... the result was not a surprising one. Many lives were lost, planets were turned inhospitable. In the end, they lost. The Galaxy Solider Army lost and with so few surviving members left was a cause only in name. Though there were others that had managed to survive, mummified demon beast assassins known as Mumbies were released all over the galaxies in order to hunt down the last remaining vestiges of the Galaxy Solider Army. The rebellion became nothing more than a foot note in history, and with no communications Meta Knight believed himself to be the last surviving member of the Star Warriors, possibly even of the Galaxy Solider Army.
Yet, there was still hope, there was still a reason to keep living even through the injuries.
There had to be, after all, Meta Knight did not believe that all the sacrifices were made in vain, and he clung to the hope that there would be another generation of Star Warriors. That while he was alone now, he would never be the last Star Warrior and that there would be another Galaxy Solider Army. While a few systems remained out of Nightmare’s grasp, there would be those that would be oppressed and once again, no doubt the same feelings the same dream that had fed the first rebellion would feed the next.
He merely had to find them first, choosing to wander throughout the galaxy. Though that was a difficult feat when one was being hunted down, which in retrospect he should have perhaps have been grateful for.
After all, he wouldn’t have wound have met a certain pair of bandits, wouldn’t have wound up on one rather battlefield ravaged planet where thieving was one of the few viable sources of food remaining. It was hard to be grateful when you were being chased by a fire breathing wolf. Wolfwrath, despite the fact that the pair of bandits had delayed him, he saved them. They still had a sense of honor, they were willing to listen. They decided to pledge their services to him and they found a future. It was hard to believe that the pair would become his right and left hand men, blade and sword knight, yet, they found his pursuit to be important. If anything, he believed at least that he should at least live long enough to see the next generation with his own eyes.
Wandering about the galaxy did not yield results, only undesirable attention.
Instead, Meta Knight began to wait for the next generation to come to him instead. Pledging his loyalty to the self-proclaimed King Dedede of Dreamland on the planet Popstar, he had found the perfect lure or so he had hoped. Popstar was a small star... not truly under Nightmare’s influence, yet, there were rumors that his majesty had an interest in demon beasts. It would not take much encouragement for the greedy king, in fact none at all, to begin to use Nightmare’s services to enforce the notion that he was truly in control.... The meager wages he and his vassals received for his services would have once insulted him, but he had no need for money. A King needed status, needed a warrior with the capabilities to defend him and a few more servants bolstered his ego. The hoard of Waddle Dees were good for a show of strength, but were more suited to cleaning the castle than defending it. His majesty was... not truly terrible, possessing the patience and comprehension of a young child, mean spirited when it suited him, yet not evil. It was why Meta Knight could serve him, and maintain his dignity along with his honor... he would not become a liar nor would he break the oath he had sworn. And... there was a higher chance that a young star warrior would find their way to Popstar. Those destined to become Star Warriors inevitability would find themselves in conflict with demon beasts, it was their nature.
Meta Knight had expected to wait much longer, many more years before the first of the Star Warriors would find their way to him, or for that fact even be born. Yet, as the King’s pet demon beast began to in earnest terrorize the country side, Kirby crashed onto Pop Star. It was unexpected. Kirby was nothing more than a baby, having arrived two hundred years too early, leaving him immature and unable to even communicate let alone fight without guidance. It was not as he had hoped, so much for prophecy... he would have to make do. It was a blessing in disguise. Enough time had pass to render himself irrelevant, a relic to the Holy Nightmare Corporation. Kirby was young, nothing more than a baby and only a threat in theory. It bought him time, both of them. Yet, his majesty did not take kindly to the baby star warrior, it was childish truly... and Kirby brought out the worst in the self-proclaimed King of Dreamland. There were many reasons his majesty attempted to provide for his dislike of the Star Warrior, but his desire to see the baby suffer was the same, the baby that had stolen the spotlight away from him, becoming more or less a small town hero in the process. His majesty’s antics turned... violent, more so than usual and crossed the line into cruelty towards both his uncaring subjects and any unfortunate soul aligned with the new star warrior.
Arguably, he was no better than his majesty. It was cruel and perhaps harsh to leave the newest Star Warrior to his own devices, yet, eventually Nightmare and his corporation would take the potential threat that Kirby pose seriously enough. If he survived the first batch of monsters a certain jealous king had ordered to eliminate the “threat”. His protection would doom the young warrior even sooner. No, Kirby was destined to fight for his survival from the beginning, he could not protect the young star warrior from Nightmare, he couldn’t even protect himself from the man let alone any of his previous allies. The child had friends, he had allies, and he had the support he would need in the coming days. -What he needed was time and on the occasion guidance, even if it had to be administered in the form of a duel. He let the corporation play its game, let the king summon demon beast after demon beast for Kirby was a natural warrior, every battle he would gain more experience. No, his role in the young warrior’s life was to gauge the strength of each encounter and if need be step in to prevent the worst. Yet, Kirby possessed a natural talent for fighting, an instinct and intuition fortunately enough. His own knowledge of demon beasts was... immense, he had spent a life time fighting them, the ones trained to fight of course. Just because a life was made by Nightmare did not mean that it would be a demon beast, nothing is evil at birth, it is made through experiences. Yet, that lifetime of experience came back to haunt him even though he had as well as he could put his past behind him.
A certain youth sought out revenge against the star warrior who had murdered his father. It took him a bit too long to connect the dots, he was the “murderer” that the youth sought out as Kirby became the new target, the known Star Warrior. Revenge, he desired revenge and even while he claimed responsibility, the youth was nearly too far gone. The only proof he had was the locket that his best friend had entrusted him with in his final moments as his friend, not the monster that he had turned into. The son nearly befell the same fate as the father. To live in such hatred for so long, it nearly changed him permanently into a demon beast as he nearly succumbed to the desire for more power in his frustration. A single lapse was all it took, and he took the extra power proffered before realizing that this was not him. How fortunate it was that Kirby could mirror his opponents, the youth learned what he had become and the hold was broken. It would have been terrible... to have witnessed a repeat of the past. He held quite a great deal of responsibility in the matter having set off the entire chain of events, imagine his surprise when the youth came back hunting down demon beasts with a suit and tie. Some parallels were not so terrible to repeat, it was... heartening in a sense.
He supposed he should have had expected Garlude’s daughter Silica by now, a pattern had been forming. Wolfwrath had been purchased by the King for the purpose of beating Kirby once and for all, the demon beast that had tracked him down. While it was destroyed, it was not an encounter that he was pleased with. So he should have known sooner or later that his past with Galaxia would crop up, after all, her mother had sacrificed herself to obtain the sword. Should have, but, he did not. She had no reason to believe him, that her mother had given her life willingly... after all she fancied him a thief that had stolen her mother’s rightful place as Galaxia’s wielder. There was little that he could say or would say on the matter, he might have known the truth, but she could not. She thought the world of her mother. In the midst of the chaos she had caused, Kirisakin was sent to retrieve Galaxia. An unwise decision that ultimately led to the demon beast’s destruction, yet not before all of a scuffle for the blade broke out. Silica learned the truth of her mother’s mission from Galaxia, finally willing to part with the blade. Yet, he did not wield the blade against Kirisakin, his right arm had been broken in the conflict. Much like her mother before her, Silica whilst enduring the punishment of the unworthy bestowed Galaxia upon Kirby. As much as Kirby had grown, he did not expect that the young star warrior would be able to wield it... Galaxia had rejected Silica’s claims and allowed itself to be wielded by the child. Galaxia had found another successor. A worthy successor, though still far too young to understand the importance let alone to hand over such a blade to. It should have been more alarming at the rate at which history seemed determined to repeat itself.
He could not claim credit for Kirby’s growth, that was the child’s own strength, yet over the course of a year, the young star warrior had grown immensely, even beginning to act upon his own without guidance. Though admittedly, he was proud of the young warrior, he had expected the worse at the beginning of the whole venture. Kirby did not know how strong he had become. Yet, time had run out. With the defeat of powerful demon beasts such as Kirisakin, eventually Nightmare and his corporation were forced to acknowledge that Kirby was a threat and that the young star warrior had to be eliminated immediately. The game had stopped being a simple game, the amusement gone. Destrayers were used to level Dreamland. Dreamland had never been a technological power house, it had no defenses from advanced star ship weaponry unless you counted a few cannonballs. Though the initial wave was defeated, he knew that another wave would come... again and again, until the goals of the Holy Nightmare Corporation had been reached. Even if it meant that the planet would be destroyed. There had been a little surprise that he, Blade, and Sword had been preparing, the first incarnation of the battleship Halberd. Ever since he had sworn loyalty to King Dedede, they had been working on the battleship in secret right underneath the greedy king’s nose. Of course, it had been a secret. The presence of a space capable battleship would have raised more than a few flags on the relatively primitive Popstar. How kind of the Holy Nightmare Corporation to have supplied the parts themselves, remnants of the King’s failed schemes. Without the extra parts it would have taken many more years to complete the ship, time that they did not have. It was a gamble, though what other choice was there other than to fight?
Other than cower.
He did not force the peaceful residents into the pending battle though the ship required a crew. He should have known that it would not be so easy to recruit. However, he did not expect them to join after he had asked them to. The plan was simple, to destroy Nightmare’s Fortress. Not exactly an easy task by any means, the odds were entirely against them, but even if they had survived the onslaught their livelihood would be under Nightmare’s control. The battle was not fought alone, allies came... and cleared the way. It seemed that he was not the only survivor of the Galaxy Solider Army as he had thought. Yet, Nightmare’s overconfidence was well founded, no weaponry on the Halberd could destroy the entity and the ship lost in the invasion attempt within the depths of the fortress though not before explosives were set on the command center. Nightmare was in fact a living nightmare, unable to be harmed unless in a dream. It was Nightmare’s own overconfidence that led to his defeat and inadvertently provided the way home through his monster delivery system.
With Nightmare defeated, everything should have gone back to normal, or about as normal as the life on the lazy planet Popstar tended to get. In a sense, it did. Once upon a time, he might have been tempted to try to go back to his old life, to try to see if more of his comrades had managed to survive the war. It had been of some comfort to know that he was not alone, yet, his past was his past, and there was now even less of a reason to dredge it up. He remained, his oath demanded anyway that he must... though he had pushed the boundaries of what it meant to protect his liege... he had disobeyed him more than a few times in the name of “safety” and to further his own agenda. It was only due to technicality that his honor was held intact and he had been willing to sacrifice it. Besides Kirby was still far too young to leave alone, yet far too attached to his home... the baby had deserved a home.
His Majesty stole all the food in Dreamland for a midnight snack, which was par for the course, including the resident’s sparkling stars and subsequently remembered how much Kirby, the now young boy valued food. Without Demon beasts to purchase, the task of beating Kirby fell solely on his majesty’s shoulders... not the best catalyst for change admittedly. Still, his majesty perhaps in learning that the Holy Nightmare Corporation had used him had lost some of the vitriol he once possessed for Kirby, no longer interested in the youth’s demise as more so becoming more popular than the pink puffball. He had not expected the King to begin training himself to become better than Kirby, even going as far to emulate his gluttonous “rival” and become “perfect” after the food heist. It was... a healthier way of occupying his time, but, peace did not last forever. In Nightmare’s absence other threats began to appear, or were more likely ever present. Nightmare was merely the foremost known threat and he did not believe that Kirby required his aid. The young boy had defeated Nightmare as a baby. The rainbows that connected the rainbow islands were stolen by some creature comprised of dark energy, Dark Matter, to create a dark world. It is true, with the aid of his animal companions, Kirby thwarted the creature. Dark Matter was a creature with the uncanny ability to possess others, perhaps had he known, he might have judged the threat more harshly as some of the inhabitants of Dreamland subsequently became... infested. Dark Matter was merely a symptom. It wasn’t the source... that would have been too simple wouldn’t it? No, a new threat arose, a dark mysterious cloud capable of breaking the rings on Popstar. Yet, once more this threat was dealt with by Kirby and the animal friends he had managed to make.
It was still the third incident, and while Kirby... Kirby was strong, he was beginning to suspect that the defeat of the mysterious entity, Zero, would not be the last danger to threaten Popstar.
He was unfortunately correct.
“True to my name, I am but a dream that lives in your heart. Therefore, I am immortal. For as long as there is fear in your heart, I will someday return.”
There were locations... spread throughout the galaxy, holy places known as Fountains of Dreams where all dreams spring from and collects the hopes and dreams of all living things. Nightmare was only a dream, and his defeat did not mean his destruction or so they would learn. While he knew not what had driven King Dedede to check the Fountain of Dreams that provided Popstar, but, Meta Knight was given a shard of the Star Rod that served as a power source for the fountain. It was... given as a friend. Nightmare had started to return to the galaxy, had begun to absorb the Fountain’s powers and by breaking the Star Rod, his majesty had subsequently prevented all of Popstar from having dreams. Without any dreams, Nightmare was trapped, there was nothing for him to latch onto as he was a dream himself. There were times where the self-styled King of Dreamland was crafty... not often, but perhaps if he was humiliated, wanted a bit of payback... he could be quick on his feet if he tried. Yet, King Dedede had smashed one of the few artefacts capable of harming Nightmare... and soon the Dream landers suffered dreamless nights. It was...a strange deed... in a manner the King had become a hero and so he did do as his liege commanded him to do. Guarded the star rod piece, though it was strange indeed. Kirby noticed, most certainly noticed the lack of dreams and tracked down the King. Despite the training that his majesty had done, he was sure that Kirby’s might was superior. It was only a matter of determination rather than strength as to whether or not the Star Rod would be made whole. Yet, unlike before, Kirby had no allies to rely upon, it would be a true test of his potential and his abilities... and the danger had grown since Nightmare’s return.
He did not trust that the destruction of the Star Rod would halt Nightmare’s attempts to return, there were other Fountains in legends and rumors though their whereabouts he did not know... the information had been long lost. This time, assuredly Nightmare would not make the same mistake twice, he would not fall to over confidence. Perhaps, he was concerned over nothing. He had seen the galaxy rid of Nightmare once, he did not wish to see the man rise again and repeat the past.
Where Kirby began to fumble, he provided a snack... that had some rather strange after effects... he probably should have looked into the ingredient list (Invincible Candy). It seemed to energize the young warrior, kept him going, kept him fighting just a bit longer. His majesty’s friends were rather serious about protecting the star rod piece, they understood after all. Kirby would not, then again they did not try to communicate the danger Dreamland had once more found itself in, Kirby would have rushed to protect his friends anyway or have tried to if he even understood. One by one, Kirby began to collect the Star Rod pieces, the resistance he faced making him even more determined to put the star rod back together. After the first strike on Nightmare, he had been surprised to find that there were those who lived in Popstar willing to dedicate their services to him and by extension King Dedede. He was never an eloquent speaker, but, this fresh blood had expressed an interest in the safety of Dreamland and Popstar. The threats that followed afterward only produced more volunteer, those who desired to learn the way of combat. He was blessed to have their loyalty, that is the loyalty of the Meta-Knights... whose name never ceased to amuse him... he didn’t come up with it. It was their idea to shorten it from the very basic Meta Knight’s Corps. He sent them against Kirby to test Kirby’s skills once more... to test his combat abilities while facing immense pressure from multiple foes though he did not ask them to give their lives. That would have been... unacceptable. The Meta-Knights failed though they followed their orders and upheld their duty admirably. Orange Ocean was where he chose to test Kirby one final time before leaving the star rod piece in the child’s hand through a simple duel. He was beaten. While his pride as a warrior might have suffered, he was assured that Kirby was not only powerful enough to defeat Nightmare, but to do so on his lonesome. He had not held back against the young star warrior, and perhaps while he chafed at losing to one so young, it was merely a matter of conflicting pride, and he had done the best he could to hold onto his star rod piece.
It wasn’t as if he ever intended to hand it over unless Kirby had beaten him in a duel.
With a real star rod in hand, Kirby defeated Nightmare for a second time. He should have known by now, how... silly of him.
Even as Popstar once more found peace, he did not, logically he knew that the danger had passed. Nightmare’s revival had been... too soon for his tastes and it brought up a host of questions. Despite having been attacked by Nightmare now twice and likewise having been saved from the unknowable intentions of dark matter... Dreamland fell back into its lazy lifestyle. As if nothing had happened at all. It had been a reoccurring theme he had noticed even before now, he merely mistook it for the markings of peaceful inhabitants. They just never learned. Didn’t learn from the King’s trickery and it seemed that they were stubborn enough to merely pretend as if everything regarding Dreamland was alright. There were a total of four incidents now that had placed Popstar in danger’s path... and it wasn’t just willful ignorance. No, the inhabitants of this world were lazy, they allowed themselves to be lulled by their surroundings. Relied on Kirby’s power and they had taken him for granted not that the small star warrior seemed to notice or cared. There were a few that were immune to this plague of laziness, a few that had taken action in the past against Dark Matter and against Nightmare, but, most of the populace remained ignorant. Having been placed in such harm, one would think that they would have developed some inkling of self-preservation. And now that Nightmare had been defeated once again, there was no guarantee that Dreamland was safe... if anything the opposite had been proven true with Dark Matter’s arrival. His majesty would not hear of it either... he held little power in the grand scheme as the residents of Dreamland did as they pleased with or without his permission. It was nonsense... where once he had felt that it was cruel to ask of peaceful folks their aid in a war... they were a danger to themselves....
It was necessary, so he told himself. It was necessary, as he along with the Meta-Knights crafted the second Halberd. He would put a stop to this foolishly lazy life style of the residents of Dreamland for their own good, even if he had to break his oath.
He did not expect as many of the Meta-Knights to understand or agree with him... perhaps they did not, but in secret they had worked on the second version of the Halberd. Not a word had been leaked to his Majesty. Popstar had once been invaded by superior technology... they had done nothing to remedy this problem and only Kirby, once more would pose a threat. He doubted that the young Star Warrior would understand that a change needed to occur in the attitude of Dreamlanders lest they fall prey to history once more. The second Halberd launched with the intention to wage war, he had declared war against his own liege and had broken his oath. Kirby came as expected... but, never had the youth had to face off against the battleship. The first time, the liftoff had been enough to blow the young Star Warrior off of his battleship. The weapons system had been enough to blow the warp star out of the sky. Yet, the third time, Kirby had enlisted Dynablade in an assault against the Halberd... the legendary bird might not have been a match against the Halberd, but Kirby had managed to get aboard the ship. The ship had only been modified to fly in the atmosphere of Dreamland, there had been a race against the clock to finish the battleship before his intentions had been leaked. There were flaws in the super structure which the young Star Warrior took advantage of. The crew was sent into a panic as the Halberd began to take a great deal of internal damage... a great deal of it dealt by their own reverse engineered Heavy Lobster. In retrospect, considering how much damage Heavy lobster had dealt to the original Halberd may not have been the best plan to use it as a defense mechanism, but, hindsight was always perfect.
The descent of the battleship was rapid and so he had to concede defeat... he ordered the crew to abandon the ship.... There were a few of his soldiers that refused to do so until Kirby was defeated. They knew that he would stay until there was a victor and would go down with the ship if none was decided. He did not know what he had done to deserve such a loyal crew... and began to regret having begun this endeavor in the first place. It... was selfish. Necessary, but selfish. Even having trained, having honed his skills as the Halberd continued to crash he lost the duel with Kirby. There was much that he had said that he regretted as his pride as a warrior once more was wounded, perhaps things that he should have said... but did not in lieu of chasing the young Star Warrior. His pride had demanded compensation in some manner. His fury had blinded him, though perhaps losing yet another battleship was partially to blame. It was... embarrassing... he should not have acted so poorly.
... It was a waste of resources and he had nearly lost his best men in the foolish endeavor though that had been some small comfort. He was... immensely grateful that none of them had been harmed too badly in the fall or in trying to defend the ship. It was not irrational his response, he could map out where frustrations from years past had surfaced. He could not apologize, he had betrayed Dreamland with this... invasion... no matter the reason he might give. In truth he was surprised that the Meta-Knights did not merely leave him after such a failure and betrayal. It wasn’t as if he hated the peace, it was more that he could not understand how nonchalantly these inhabitants could go back to their lives. There had been another option, to take a stance against the threats that would harm Popstar. He had merely opted to take a very different path.
Redemption was a strong word, too strong... he was respecting their duel and recognizing that there was an alternative or so he told himself. That and it was merely some things, certain things could not be said and simply forgiven. So he would be reminded of that fact after he was smashed off the third iteration Halberd by a certain hammer wielding “King”.
Vigilant, he noticed one day that the mirror world was in danger, one that could leak into their world, their realm. However, being vigilant was not enough... he entered the mirror world in an attempt to preemptively neutralize the threat to Dream Land. Dark Mind had corrupted the Mirror World in an attempt to take it over. He was caught unaware by the creature... the copy that the mirror created of him and... his dark side? Embarrassing... truly embarrassing, but he was effectively trapped in the Mirror world wounded as the copy shattered the mirror that had served as the gateway between the two worlds. He was in no condition to fight Dark Mind nor was he aware of another method of exiting the world. Perhaps he should have expected Kirby, not four different Kirbys, but Kirby would have eventually caught on as he caught the young Star Warrior fighting well... himself. There was a small bit of solace that his dark doppelganger was defeated by Kirby. At Galaxia’s permission, he gave the sword to Kirby for the young Star warrior to utilize against Dark Mind, he was too injured to truly consider combat. It was... shameful. He had not gone unprepared into the Mirror World, yet even nearing the height of his capabilities having gained some of his strength back he was in the end no match. Such was the way of it and it just meant that Kirby was maturing, growing into his potential. He could not hold it against the youth.
It was almost as shameful as the time where Dreamland was turned into a painting and he had to learn how to wield a sword with no arms or feet. There wasn’t much he could do in the face of potent magic.
Still Kirby for all of his capabilities as a warrior still had much to learn... the child was worrisome, innocent, but worrisome none the less. It took the Squeaks, a gang of thieves to make it abundantly apparent how much damage Kirby could cause if left entirely to his devices.
The child Star Warrior had nearly unleashed Dark Nebula upon Popstar, thinking that the creature’s prison actually contained a piece of strawberry short cake. He might have bothered to explain why he had intervened this time, if Kirby hadn’t been trying to eat the chest. There was that, and he had bothered to not only steal the chest, but placed it behind a five star sealed door... but, he was sincerely confused why the young Star Warrior would think that he’d resort to stealing cake. Yet, he was defeated in yet another battle though it was no duel. With the possibility of yet another dark entity being unleashed upon Popstar, he forewent the duel and attacked the young warrior as fast as possible hoping to discourage the youth entirely from opening that chest.... Only for all that effort to go to waste as Kirby opened up the chest and released Dark Nebula upon Popstar. He had... failed yet again. The damage that followed in Kirby’s wake in his quest for a slice of shortcake was... surprising, even the King wound up being accosted in this adventure. Even with pure intentions... well it became apparent that the young Star Warrior still needed some guidance and... a challenge. And a bit more guidance.
As strained as his relationship with Dedede had been in the wake of his invasion of Dreamland, he tolerated his and Kirby’s antics though still kept his distance, but closer at hand physically after the release of Dark Nebula. He was closer to the pair and the strange Waddle Dee that had taken a liking to the King, at least physically. It was on a lazy day that the Lor Sarcutter crashed in Dreamland, piloted by an alien known as Magolor. Pieces of the ship were scattered all over Popstar and in truth Meta Knight had never seen a ship like it, unable to even begin to hazard how to repair the craft. Kirby was of course the one to offer up his aid and it would have been extremely rude to merely abandoned Magolor. It was arguably his first adventure with Kirby, instead of watching he actively aided the young warrior in the search for the star ship pieces. It wasn’t that bad, it wasn’t a hard endeavor between the four of them considering their collective past challenges and accomplishments. It wasn’t long before the Lor Starcutter was repaired... perhaps he might have gone so far to have perhaps even enjoyed the outing. Or would have. Kirby accepted the offer to visit Halcandra, Magolor’s home world and a planet that he hadn’t heard of before. A great four headed dragon appeared and attacked the ship upon reaching Halcandra... any concerns that he might have had were preoccupied with defeating the creature. In the end, Magolor had used them, all of them to obtain an artifact called the Master Crown to conquer the universe. Beginning with of course, Popstar. He should have known better, should have seen it coming if only simply due to the nature of prior adventures. Having been in the thick of the adventurer, he had lost his own perspective.
Landia, the multi headed dragon, separated and offered its aid, transporting all of them through another dimension where they were separated in part due to Magolor’s new found power. Even though the four of them managed to defeat Magolor twice, they barely made it home. They almost did not. If not for the arrival of Landia and the Lor Cutter to transport them back to Popstar... the other dimension shattering in the process along with the Master Crown. It was more collateral damage than he thought was going to occur when he first was roped into this particular adventure.
Admittedly, he should have helped when a giant bean stalk, a dreamstalk to be more precise, had lifted both the castle and Kirby’s house off of the ground up to the Floralia, a series of floating islands. It was far different than Dreamland might have as well been its own world. Or rather he would have if a certain self-proclaimed King thought it was an excellent idea to destroy the third incarnation of the battleship Halberd. The fourth incarnation was nearly finished when the entire planet was nearly enveloped in vines to sap the living energy from all of Popstar to feed Queen Sectoria’s beauty. There was only so fast one could construct a battleship capable of not only interstellar flight, but equipped with a prototype planet buster post haste. There had been no reason to add on such firepower, until the planet became enveloped in life draining vines. It was unnecessary in the end to do so and delayed deployment. To this day, he is unsure exactly how his... clone figured into the whole ordeal as apparently in the midst of repairs and modifications there had been a second attempt on the Queen’s part to take over all of Popstar to be worshipped as its goddess. If only the third incarnation of the Halberd hadn’t been destroyed, then so much peril and danger could have been avoided entirely. Revenge in his experience had the tendency to sour... he did know the King well enough that if he was not careful that his declaration of war was enough to warrant active retribution. The timing could not have been poorer.
The modifications to the Halberd were not immediately useful against the next threats that would inevitably plague Dreamland. While he might have noticed that parts of Popstar had been turned into... patchwork and yarn, a battleship was not immediately useful against such a phenomena such as magic. Likewise, when a curse descended upon Popstar turning the residents and himself into clay while draining the land of color, this became problematic as the very laws of reality were rewritten by sorcery... which notably a battleship needed to exist to be effective. As he and the Meta-Knights were lacking hands and feet, it was impossible to fly the ship under these strained conditions... it was most embarrassing and highly reminiscent of another threat that had descended upon Popstar.
The most recent threat came from the stars. Most of the threats to the planet had been internal as of late, either caused by the residents of the planet or some dimension adjacent to the world. Popstar was admittedly a primitive world with little in the way of technology or scientific progress. To his credit the King did try to defend Dreamland from the Haltmann Works Company. The problem was one that he had attempted to exploit with the Halberd. In the face of overwhelming scientific advancement, a few cannonballs did nothing to slow the alien Company. Nor did the Halberd, its engine and solar sails shot out before a dent could be made on the Access Arc. Latching onto Popstar, the mega company began to harvest the world’s natural resources and robotizing the once lush landscape. Still, there was nothing on the planet that could match the Halberd’s firepower, not anymore with the last of the hyper seeds from the dreamstalk eaten. They were at a technological disadvantage, especially against a space faring corporation. The Holy Nightmare Corporation had kept the other smaller companies in line... now that it was gone, everything that had once been unspoken law was up for grabs, including Popstar regardless of the residents. He was not about to lose the only piece of advanced technology the planet still had at its disposal.
He ordered his still fiercely loyal servants to repair the ship and flee, hide if they must until there was an opportune time to strike. To buy them as much time as possible, he took on the army of Haltmann Works Co alone, but he was defeated. A secretary within the company found him... fascinating. Impressive enough to take the sweet time remodeling him with cybernetics however she wished. He was no longer him, he was a product of the Haltmann Works Company, a prototype of a new line that they planned to mass produce to increase their own personal military power. It hadn’t mattered that he was still alive. After all he was just a product with a new designation.
#M-7110
Mecha Knight. Security for the Access Ark. Defeated.
There had only been one other time in which he had been controlled, even then there had been a part of him still there. Yin Yarn, the sorcerer who had turned him into yarn had only been controlling his strings. There was a part of him that knew what he had been doing, he had fought Kirby before, but he did not exist as #M-7110. There was nothing except #M-7110. Nor was there anything else when he was upgraded into Mecha Knight+. If... Kirby hadn’t broken the mask... he did not wish to think what would have happened. There might have been the possibility that he would have remained as Mecha Knight +. Susie, that was her name had seen fit to outfit him with a robotic tail to further increase his “effectiveness” after his first incarnation had been made into scrap metal more or less. Injured he had flown back to the Halberd’s hiding place to retrieve it, taking off as much of the implants as possible. That may not have been the smartest move, he was already weakened and might as well have been in a haze, but he refused to be Mecha Knight, to have any bit remaining of that abomination. It had been a long while since he had been personally invested in Kirby’s adventures... it had been even longer that he had been this... overwhelmed and emotionally drained.
While his memory of it was hazy, it was highly cathartic to watch a Kirby Halberd defeat the Access Ark and by extension Star Dream or Mother Computer. Unfortunately it seems that the galaxy hasn’t given him much time to relax after the incident....

Fighting Style
Meta Knight utilizes a highly aggressive sword fighting style that combines his natural agility and the mobility granted to him by his dimensional cape. True strength can only achieved by pushing one’s personal boundaries which his personal fighting style reflects due to the physical demands placed on his body as a result. The most notable feature of his sword fighting style is the speed at which he is able to wield his sword. He often utilizes momentum along with gravity to further enhance his skills, resulting in techniques such as the drill rush and the mach tornado. Meta Knight focuses on offensive capabilities and while is proficient in close combat has a few techniques that allows him to close the gap between him and his foes. However, as his combat style seems to primarily focus on offense, his defense relies on the entirely on the principle of not getting hit. As agile as he is, he isn’t able to take blows easily, he just isn’t able to bounce back as quickly as Kirby can. Also due to the high physical demands of his style, any injury can easily decrease his capabilities as a fighter even if he can endure the pain. This is especially true if his right arm is damaged as it is his main sword hand. Also if the dimensional cape is damaged enough, his mobility is compromised. While he isn’t entirely defenseless without a blade as he has been known to utilize throws and body slams, all of his techniques require a blade to perform... most of his abilities require Galaxia specifically. His light weight and flexible form are a boon to his agility, yet, they also make him extremely easy to be knocked back and tossed away. In fact, he is so light that he could be easily carried off by a strong breeze and in general has difficulty maneuvering in high winds thanks to the dimensional cape. Meta Knight’s greatest weakness is however, himself.
Much like his name implies, he acts like a knight and holds up a certain code of honor, particularly in the context of combat. There are only a few situations where he has put aside his honor, yet, even then he does so begrudgingly. He will not attack an unarmed foe, in fact, he often tends to arm them if combat ensures. Notably, he also prefers to fight one on one... a duel so to speak. While, this isn’t always possible, unless he is overwhelmed this sense of honor extends even to his abilities, and by extension Galaxia. He refuses to use abilities derived from Galaxia’s power in a duel. Even against multiple foes he rarely uses them either as it isn’t technically his own power. His other weakness is well... the fact he’s rather self-conscious. He is a proud warrior, yet, he will retreat if his mask is broken... it is one of the few ways of forcing him to flee... and of course he isn’t willing to show himself without a mask. Apparently not even having his entire mind rewritten by the mother computer will prevent him from fleeing if his mask is broken....
Galaxia - Weapon
Description: A golden four pronged sword that is longer than Meta Knight’s body with a ruby embedded on its hand guard. She is a sacred blade said to be forged by the ruler of a long extinct race of fire people which possess her own will and could even be considered alive. The full extent of its power is not fully known nor is the reason behind the blade’s forging, but it is extremely durable and sharp, able to apparently stand even Kirby’s stomach. It is said to be able to absorb the energy of fallen foes. As the blade possesses her own will, she can only be wielded by those that the sword itself deems as worthy. Those who are unworthy and attempt to wield the blade are thwarted by a severe electrical shock which will be continually administered until the sword is removed from their possession which can lead to severe injury and may even be fatal. According to legend once more, it is also possible that those who are utterly unworthy fall further and become consumed by their own evil. The sword can be phased into existence from its handle, making it possible to carry the blade around without limiting mobility. The only two known wielders of Galaxia are Meta Knight and of course Kirby, the latter of which can obtain the master ability from the sword which allows for advanced sword techniques to be executed. Galaxia is also required for some of Meta Knight’s own abilities. She can talk apparently through a form of telepathy though this seems to only extend to those holding her hilt. Apparently effective against a variety of extra dimensional foes!
Damage Type: Physical, Electrical/ Mental (For those unworthy of wielding the blade)
Variant: Galaxia is also an indispensable tool, if she allows herself to be used. While she is able to electrocute those unworthy of possessing it, it appears that the blade has a low level electrical current circulating through it. Galaxia is capable of creating a small charge which can be used to manipulate low energy machines. She is capable of powering a large battery, and if touched will administer a small shock. Nothing dangerous as the voltage is low enough, but a surprise none the less. A quick shock can also be enough to create a small spark.
Damage Type: Very minor electrical damage, very minor fire damage.
Dimensional Cape - “Weapon”
Description: A strange, likely, magical cape that grants Meta Knight the ability to limitedly manipulate space around himself. His most common use of this cape is to wrap it around himself and to teleport away usually after his mask has been broken to preserve his dignity. He is able to teleport short distances with the dimensional cape to locations no further than a mile away. Also he cannot use long distance teleportation in close quarters with another individual lest he accidentally teleport them with him. While this seems harmless, one individual teleporting is enough to place some strain on physical space... two... two might be too much. He is never seen without the dimensional cape. It seems to be a rather recent addition to his arsenal. It can be damaged, but it can also be mended granted that you have a little skill with a thread and needle. Well as long as some part of it survives combat.
Damage Type: N/A
Variant: Meta Knight has also been known to manipulate the cape into a pair of bat like wings which he can use to fly with and is still able to fight. It should be noted that his recorded flight speed is approximately 30 miles per hour. At least, that is his maximum flight speed while still being able to fight, he is actually much faster when unencumbered and not currently attempting to duel in the air. If he is carrying more than his weight, he struggles to generate lift and can fly at most around 5 miles per hour. Also it should be noted that if his cape is damaged, then his ability to fly is compromised. While his techniques are usable while flying, his flight speed must slow to at least 20 miles per hour before performing them.
Damage Type: N/A
Variant: For extremely short periods of time, Meta Knight is able to ebb and flow out of physical space allowing him to avoid foe’s attacks. He uses this to counter attack his foes by reappearing nearby. He is still essentially warping, but, the distance is much less and requires greater control. Also there is an inherent danger in ebbing out of physical space, which is being lost in space. Being aware of this, the warp in physical space, he cannot continually use the dimensional cape in the same space. To avoid this fate, he must not use the dimensional cape consecutively, waiting at least a posts in between to safely use the warp again. This variant only comes into effect when warping less than ten feet or while in combat.
Damage Type: N/A
Mach Tornado - Technique
Description: Spinning at high speeds, Meta Knight unleashes a veritable storm of blows which gives the appearance of a tornado thanks to the speed of the technique. He is capable of performing Mach Tornado both while on the ground and while in the air. Beware of the vortex created by this technique, it might be difficult to escape once you’re caught. While it requires him to slow down initially, the technique requires him to move a high speeds to maintain the momentum.
Damage Type: Physical
Variant: A variant of this move exists in which the momentum of the technique is channeled through the blade rather than utilizing the whole body. Meta Knight in this variant stabs the ground and creates a large tornado that seemingly breaks through the ground. While it is a technique of his own making, it seems that Galaxia is required for the variant, which may translate the energy into a tornado which will travel for seven feet before dissipating. Though it appears to be made out of wind, it is actually made from electrical energy and requires momentum, which might be generated by dropping from the air at great speeds. Strangely, the “tornado” only moves in one direction. The electrical properties are generated by Galaxia, though a regular sword can be used for this variation of this technique, creating actual gusts of wind. Unfortunately this moves leaves him open to counter attack as the sword is lodged firmly into the ground after generating such a powerful shockwave.
Damage Type: Physical, Electrical (Galaxia Only)
Variant: The final variant appears to be a combination of both forms of Mach tornado, in which case Meta Knight spins around rapidly to form the “tornado”. Instead of moving through the air or along the ground to trap foes, the tornado’s “arm” expands, catching enemies and allies alike. Using about 18 units of energy, Galaxia unleashes its stored energy, expanding the range of the tornado immensely and creating a large field of electricity which shocks all those in range of the tornado and beyond. The radius of the tornado can reach up to about six feet, though thankfully this form of Mach Tornado is stationary. Meta Knight must begin this variation in the air, though may allow himself to fall.
Damage Type: Electrical (Galaxia Only)
Sword Beam - Technique
Description: Slashing the wind, Meta Knight generates a beam of energy from his blade to attack those afar. This energy collection begins in the tip of the blade and is released shortly after which gives it a distinct crescent feature. It requires the state of mushin to achieve, or no mind which means the user acts in response to threats. Apparently this technique indicative of becoming one with the sword wielded and despite his short limbs, sword beam allows him to reach foes from far away increasing his reach. As a master swordsman, Meta Knight has been shown to be able to cut through solid stone with this technique. His range is estimated to be around 15 feet, though because of the requirement of mushin, cannot use this technique as a preemptive attack, only in response to an enemy’s aggression. Also if he is under mental duress, Meta Knight may not be able to use this technique for the same reason as he has not achieved an instinctual state and it is harder to retain the bond required with a sentient sword. It is a technique that always utilizes the full potential, even injured, a Sword beam will always be the same strength as it is the soul that is said to generate it.
Damage Type: Physical, Electrical (Galaxia only)
Variant: A variant of Sword Beam that doesn’t require achieving a full state of mushin, it is notably weaker as less energy is transferred into the tip of the blade and the arc moves slower. While the arc moves slower, it is more linear and does not seem to be comprised of pure energy. While it is more practical in combat as it doesn’t hinge entirely on the mental state of the user, it does not possess the ability to cut through solid stone. If this variant is used with Galaxia, it appears that the energy released from the blade has ignited the air around the tip, creating a slash of fire that travels approximate ten feet. In the normal use of Sword Beam, the release of energy is far too quick and doesn’t generate enough heat to cause the air around to ignite in the same manner.
Damage Type: Physical, Fire (Galaxia)
Variant: A variant of Sword Beam that utilizes the ground to generate a concussive force. This variant requires for the state of mushin to be achieved meaning all limitations that apply to the normal version of sword beam applies to this variant. The difference is that instead of releasing the energy at the tip of the blade, the gathered energy is released throughout the blade. Intrinsically this is dangerous, therefore the blade must be planted into the ground. The result is a concussive blast of energy that flares up from the ground. Similarly, the force of this blast will always be the same strength no matter what condition Meta Knight generates it in. If Galaxia is used in this variant, the concussive blast of energy will shock both allies and foes as part of the energy is of course electrical in nature.
Damage Type: Physical, Electrical (Galaxia)
Drill Rush - Technique
Description: A technique where Meta Knight launches himself into a spin either in the air or on the ground and drills into his foes. This corkscrew maneuver increases the amount of damage done to an opponent, but, is difficult to control once it has been performed thanks to the general difficulty of keeping track of the surroundings while spinning. Meta Knight is able to angle the Drill Rush, but otherwise finds it difficult to change the overall trajectory of the rush maneuver.
Damage Type: Physical
Variant: In this variant, Meta Knight still launches into his foes, but does not spin. He, instead, more or less dashes into them, skewering them on the tip of the blade. While less powerful and less painful of a variant as he doesn’t drill into his opponents with his blade, he is far more in control of this variant. allowing him to use the speed of the dash to keep his momentum and double back and impale an unfortunate opponent a second time.
Damage Type: Physical
Variant: Like the original move, Meta Knight in this variant launches himself into a spin, but the rotations are far fewer which allows him to utilize the technique without slowing down while in midair. As this technique is designed solely for aerial combat at his highest speed, this variant can only be used in the air and due to the lower number of rotations, Meta Knight is unable he cannot change the course of the drill rush. As one might suspect, because there are fewer rotations during the rush, this variant is also weaker than the original move, though not necessarily easier to pull off due to the speed at which it is performed.
Damage Type: Physical
Shuttle Loop - Technique
Description: While in flight, Meta Knight jumps and quickly slashes at his foe before beginning to fly once more. As a result, it appears that Meta Knight has flown in a tight circle or a shuttle loop, and he often will follow up with a second strike after looping. While the shuttle loop is an offense technique, it is more of an aerial maneuver that allows Meta Knight to quickly reverse his flight path, making him even harder to predict in aerial combat. However, he cannot perform another technique in the next post immediately after due to the strain placed on his wings.
Damage Type: Physical
Variant: In this variant, Meta Knight performs a shuttle loop though without the second strike and does not resume flight immediately after. He instead glides which allows him to rest even in intense air battles for a second which allows him to chain a second technique to his shuttle loop in the next post as long as he is gliding at an appropriate speed to do so.
Damage Type: Physical
Meta Knight Points - Ability
Description: Galaxia does in fact have the ability to collect the energy of defeated or unconscious foes. Although it is clear by now that Meta Knight needs a bit of help creatively naming the techniques derived from this power he can collect, he gains increments of energy directly proportional to the strength and power of his foes which can be unleashed in a variety of ways. If a regular enemy is defeated, then he gains one point, or one unit of this energy. If he defeats a stronger enemy, such as a player character or a “boss” character, he will gain ten units of this energy. For very post in combat, he likewise gains another point. However, he refuses to use any powers granted to him through Galaxia in a duel or in a similar combat situation. Galaxia is capable of storing a total of 50 units of this energy.
Damage Type: N/A
Variant: N/A
Meta Cure- Ability
Description: Meta Knight is able to heal some of his minor wounds. Galaxia is able to accelerate the healing process and effectively induce wound regeneration at the cost of ten points. Approximately the maximum health that Meta Knight is able to heal at the cost of ten points is one fifth of his health, which means only minor wounds. The amount of points spent is cumulative, meaning that Meta Knight can spend more points to increase the amount of healing done to his body. Every ten points in results in another 20% of his wounds being healed, which means that another tier of wounds may be treated, such as twisted limbs and other common muscular skeletal related injuries. By expending the total maximum of 50 points, Meta Knight is able to fully recover from a wound that would be considered fatal, as long as the damage dealt isn’t instantly deadly.
Damage Type: N/A
Variant: Much like Meta Heal, this ability variant granted by Galaxia affect’s Meta Knight’s body. Instead of healing his body, for a period of three posts, Meta Knight is able to move approximately 50% faster than he is normally able to with improved reflexes that allows him to fight at these new optimal speeds. This is actually less complicated than healing minor wounds and requires slightly less energy at eight units of energy rather than ten. Wounds are... and always will be a messy business. Galaxia accelerates the body as a whole rather than trying to distribute energy over the immune system and cells required for regeneration which. The lack of specificity is the reason behind its energy efficiency.
Damage Type: N/A
Knight Call- Ability
Description: Meta Knight is able to summon his most loyal knaves to his side as long as they would normally respond to their lord’s call. By spending two units of energy, Galaxia seemingly is able to pull either Sword or Blade Knight from... well... somewhere. It is completely random which Knight will answer the call and be summoned. While they do not possess any special abilities, both Blade and Sword Knight are experienced in fighting with the weapon of their name sake though they have been noted to be able to use an axe and a mace respectively. Their styles are almost identical to each other, though Sword Knight is more aggressive in combat than his counterpart. Both are extremely loyal to Meta Knight and are sworn to his defense, rarely questioning his orders in battle as they trust his judgement. If either of them are about to sustain fatal or lethal damage, Galaxia has been known to send them back....Unless defeated in battle, they will remain in the same world as their Lord. It should be noted that both of them are surprisingly adept mechanically speaking, and might have an inclination towards the culinary arts... not that they ever cook lest they accidentally offend Meta Knight’s cooking. It is unknown what species they belong to. Only one may be summoned at time.
Damage Type: N/A
Variant: Summoning more than one loyal servant to Meta Knight’s side is extremely difficult and places a great deal of stress on the fabric of space time. It is why likely summoning the core non officer members of the Meta-Knights costs so much more energy at 35 units. Galaxia can summon simultaneously, Javelin, Axe, Mace, and Trident Knight. While all of them are naturally extremely loyal to Meta Knight, Axe and Mace are the most loyal of these combat trained knights. While these Knights don’t possess any notable special abilities, they have trained together as a cohesive unit. They’ve fought Kirby together and have survived well enough showing a surprising amount of durability. Like with Blade and Sword Knight, Galaxia will send each Knight back individually if they sustain fatal damage. Otherwise, once summoned they will remain in the same world as their liege. It is unlikely that they’ll question their lord in battle as they are sworn to protect him and are experienced at piloting large craft such as the Halberd. It is unknown what species these knights belong to. The original version of Knight Call cannot be used if the variant is in effect thanks to the extra burden a fifth individual would place on space time.

?? Physiology - Ability
Description: Though it is unknown exactly what race Meta Knight actually belongs to, his body has noticeably exhibited several strange traits that deviates completely from human biology. It seems the Meta Knight is highly flexible and that his body is likewise elastic in nature. Similar to Kirby, it seems that the Knight is able to stretch though to a much lesser degree as he is able to elongate his feet while kicking. He is able to nearly flatten himself against the ground and is able to resume his shape with surprising quickness afterward. Though he can still be harmed greatly by crushing forces, he seems to be able to recover from them much quicker. He can still be knocked out of course with enough force, but, flattening him isn’t as likely to prove fatal. Similar to Kirby, Meta Knight is extremely light, and while this makes him rather agile, also means that he could in theory be blown away by a very strong wind. He is light enough to jump about four times his height without resorting to the dimensional cape to reach new heights. His body is rather adaptable, which might be implied by its malleability, seeing as he is able to survive in low gravity environments with little atmosphere and is able to tolerate the change in altitude and air density without any noticeable side effects. Cold likewise doesn’t seem to affect him much considering he has spent a considerable amount of time in the mesopause of Popstar. The inverse is not true as he refuses to go without armor... extreme heat would not be easy to bear considering the amount of metal is attached to his body. Despite being so light, it seems that he cannot actually be inhaled or have his innate techniques copied through another method. He still has short arms which tends to place him at a disadvantage in combat and due to his light weight can be easily knocked back.

Stealth - Ability
Description: Not a true ability in the sense that it is super natural, but Meta Knight can be extremely quiet with his movements despite the fact he wears armor. It seems that he has a great deal of skill in sneaking around and up on both his friends of opponent... that or Dreamlanders are just inherently inattentive which is a sincere possibility. His skill in stealth seems to be self-taught and was likely that it was one of the reasons he managed to survive after the Galaxy Soldier Army lost the war with Nightmare. Though it is not my any means a knightly skill to possess, it is invaluable for gathering information and crossing enemy lines....

Star’s Voyage - Ability
Description: As one might suspect, Meta Knight has shown on the occasion a great affinity for piloting vehicles, particularly those that have space capabilities. Naturally gifted with fast reflexes, he has managed to notably pilot the third iteration of the Halberd by himself during the events of Brawl. As long as he is generally familiar with the technology, he is likely able to pilot the vehicle which includes combustion engines, though his specialty seems to be in space craft which makes sense considering that he fought in a galactic war. The biggest threat to his ability to pilot a vehicle is his height. Standing at two and a half feet, it can be surprisingly hard to drive a car if you can’t even reach the pedals. It should go without saying that Meta Knight is a quick learner, but without prior experience in piloting a craft, he isn’t going to be an expert.
Damage Type: N/A
Variant: Hand in hand with his piloting experience, Meta Knight seems to have some mechanical capabilities, which makes sense since it is sort of game over if a ship fails in the depth of space. Though it is clear that he doesn’t dirty his own hands as much as he might have in days long past... he did help to construct the first iteration of the Halberd. How much he helped is unclear, but he does seem to know something about repairing smaller space craft. He also might know something about more traditional forms of transportation since he seems to have managed to hot wire a car with a combustible engine. He is more of a fighter than a mechanic, but seems to have picked up enough along the way.

final smash
Galaxia Darkness – Final Smash
Description: Utilizing both his sword Galaxia and his dimensional cape, Meta Knight traps foes with the spatial warping properties of the cape where he slices those trapped within able to reach any of his victims. As long as he manages to trap one opponent, he is able to expand the dimensional cape and hit those around him as he is able to zip to and from enemies at high speeds. He’ll deal damage to anyone currently in the same combat instance, though much less than the poor individual who was trapped initially. As one might think, the inside of this spatial distortion is dark, which is implied in the darkness part of this particularly brutal final smash. Those around Meta Knight while using his final smash may also be affected by the final blow delivered to the trapped individual which cuts open the dimensional cape. It is entirely possible for even his allies to be targeted with this final smash. Due to the nature of this final smash, it is difficult to guard against. As the name implies, Meta Knight’s final smash requires Galaxia to perform... it is likely that it is the sentient sword that grants him the ability to use the final smash in the first place despite being in critical condition.
Damage Type: Physical
Variant: By unleashing Galaxia’s power from fallen foes and from the energy of combat, Meta Knight is able to perform Galaxia Darkness and does not need to be in critical condition to do so. It requires a total of fifty units of energy, the maximum amount of energy Galaxia is capable of storing.
