A heavy thud against the railing concluded the sordid business of commandeering the enemy’s vessel, yet, as he turned his attention to the rather... primitive controls laid out before him at the helm, he felt something scrabbling to gain purchase in the back of his mind. It was most certainly not Galaxia, no, he had grown accustom to hearing her humming nor did she ever need to fight him. Nor did he ever feel the need to instinctually repress her, no, it was some other force... and it was not the first time he had found himself in this situation.... It found no purchase, it was not strong enough. The force, did not go unnoticed either by her either. It was the nature of their bond and the quiet humming that permeated his mind roared to life as her presence blazed, burning away the intrusion or rather burying it under her presence. Glowing almost painfully bright as her song increased in volume, Galaxia crackled with excess static electricity, her annoyance made manifest, ‘Asinine creature, you possess neither the will nor the strength to stand before us! Return to ground as all worms are apt to do lest I incinerate you.’ He was not helpless before this unseen force, no, even without her presence, he had fought against the snares of compulsion. It was not... unwelcomed, the aid that is for it was infinitely easier to focus while her anger laced song danced in his mind. Well compared to the pulling of his thoughts and mind towards some... dark unknown force, there was a certain sense of clarity he possessed. Galaxia, was not merely just a blade to be wielded, not that he thought of her in this manner, but it was ever more apparent in the moment how fortunate he was that she had acknowledged his strength. ‘As if I would tolerate this... feeble sickness. The meager attempt is an offense to both of us.’ It was due to blessed clarity that he had seen the second airship heading straight for the bridge. Rather than reach for the controls, he flapped once up into the air to escape the shuddering impact, his mind even clearer as the strange purple aura disappeared from the ship. As with it, so did the lingering, failing grip of the unknown force that had gripped him moments after he had stepped on board finally remove itself. The din in his mind clearing as neither he nor Galaxia felt the strange pull, the timing of which had been opportune though suspicious. Remaining bright, her presence receded back to the low near constant hum in the background, though her points still sparked... her verbal response nothing more than a huff. Touching down lightly, he still felt the shudder run through the ship though had escaped the worst of it, the jolt that he no doubt would have felt, if he had remained on the ground. Yet, this time, he was not assailed by... ‘A leech.’ She still seethed at the intrusion and though he grew ever more suspicious of the craft he now was at the helm at, the... entity, the intrusion had costed him a few precious seconds.... Not that even had he been focusing on the helm, would he have likely been unable to avoid the collision, and considering the strange circumstances of events... it may have been serendipitous. Yet, it was callous the manner in which he was about to combat this new element... he did not expect the other ship to dock as he glanced at once more at the primitive controls. The other ship had decided the course of action that he needed to take, he would take the opportunity this crash had presented then. His hand was already on the as the first defenders began to board the ships in what he presumed was a bid to take back the craft. It was a most unfortunate timing for them. Though he could not quite afford to be distracted in his doings... he knew not how many soldiers were aboard each ship, but he was assuredly outnumbered. It was not intimidating, he would welcome the challenge if cirucmstances were different, however, wishing did not make it so and he was also not one to ignore an opportunity when he saw one. With a flip of a lever, he cut most of the power to the port side, the side where the second airship had unceremoniously decided to “gently” ram into, and the propellers began to spin slower and slower. Conversely, he increased the flow of power to the starboard side despite the fact that the ship had been boarded... no, that was partly why. He did not know how much power, how much lift was generated by the left side alone... let alone if it would be enough to sustain flight, yet it was ultimately irrelevant. After all, if the ship was the source of the strange aura, then disabling it would only be beneficial. There was movement at the edge of his peripheral vision, flight, and before he had turned to face the new threat completely... it had identified itself as an ally. It was the blue caped beorc from before... extruding some strange bright aura of his own.... That should have been worrisome, but, with these two... Koopa soldiers on deck and with the almost playful nature of the man’s words he was more concerned at the moment with execution of this maneuver. Taking the wheel, he held onto it and spun it rapidly towards the port side, towards the second airship, pressuring it. Without looking up, or behind him where the beorc’s voice had come from, he dryly responded, “Reckless? No, play time has just begun.” It was a bit terse, he did not consider this to be highly amusing, but he gestured to the deck anyway... the effects had begun to present themselves as the airship responded to the controls. Prattle in the middle of combat... was baffling to him still. Without the stabilizing force generated by the port side, the airship had begun to immediately fly at an incline with the starboard side higher than the port side simply because it was generating a greater deal of lift. Turning the ship towards the port side only increased the angle it was flying at as there was no balancing force being provided by the starboard side and as the ship had been nestled against the second airship thanks to the aforementioned ramming, there wasn’t enough force to push away the other airship, no, instead the point of impact became a focal point. Against which the ship was now wholly leaning against. Flaring out the dimensional cape, he was able to hover near the wheel without being affected by the now sheer incline that the airship was flying at... maintaining it for now. Though he required both hands for such an endeavor, and had as a result sheathed Galaxia into the outer rim of the wooden wheel house. He would not be surprised if part of the deck broke against such pressure, the survival of this airship did not concern him, these enemies of theirs had shown that they could and would survive a fall from this height... but, this playtime was meant to prevent several events. At such an angle, it was unlikely that a salvo of cannon fire could be aimed at the civilian group... nor would the wheel be accessible let alone the top deck. The decks below would be in disarray, bodies and unsecured equipment... even secure equipment might be thrown about thanks to the extreme angle induced. It would likewise be difficult to be boarded while at such an extreme angle and returning the favor and half ramming the other airship would keep it tied up enough. It was unorthodox, and it was a bit... dirty, but he took no pleasure in this endeavor as callous as it was. There was no honor in it, this he could admit. However, there was likewise no honor in firing cannons around a group of civilians... nor did he believe that such a notion was familiar with these foes.... It was merely an ends to achieve several goals which he believed were vital at the moment and hopefully it would prove effective. Still glowing brightly as she was still wary of the vessel they had boarded, though she was for the moment stuck in the wheel of the airship, Galaxia chimed in when his hand brushed past her hilt‘... I do believe our ally has a new definition of.... reckless.’ There was a hissing hum in the background as Hade’s voice boomed from nowhere, as the both of them felt another presence... less foreign than the one from before. Not that such information was a solace to either of them, catching only a mental blip of her distress as once more there was a brush against the hilt ‘He’s claimed a champion....' He was aware, he was however a bit busy, 'The cur has claimed a soul already and has the gall to claim benevolence.’ There was a distinct electrical crackle around the hilt, as the spirit of the sword silently simmered, unable to fully voice her dismay as her champion was busy with keeping the airship somewhat aloft. | 1499 Meta Knight Points: 6 Dimensional Cape (1) Star's Voyage TL;DR Galaxia is pissed because the corruption attempted to take over Meta Knight, is still perturbed by that when Hades shows up and is having problems, because Hades has essentially claimed his own champion. Meta Knight more or less remakes what should have happened in the original KSS thanks to a translation error (Wrong side got power, the Halberd probably should have been flying at a 180 degree angle). AKA, The airship is now flying at a very step angle towards the second airship and is colliding with it. The airship might be loosing lift as a result, hope you can fly. <3 |
