Ulysses, in every aspect, gives off the appearance of a circus ringleader. He is always seen with his flashy red suit, large top hat, wild red hair, and white face paint. You will never see him without his walking cane in hand and his whip coiled at his side. He would seem like a standard ringleader if it weren't for two very interesting things. The first is that people generally have a feeling of unease around him that is hard to pinpoint. It's as if his very appearance gives off the slightest sense of malice even when being perfectly agreeable. The second is his shadow. It does not matter where the light is coming from in the room, Ulysses will always have a very large shadow directly behind him. There is more to this shadow than meets the eye.
Ulysses' Shadow
If you are unlucky enough to find yourself face to face with this essence of Death then you have truly gone astray or been betrayed. Ulysses' shadow is actually a creature bound to him for eternity. It is a large cloaked creature covered in chains and occasionally wielding a scythe. If this is blocking your path you had better think twice before approaching. Though it seldom manifests itself to others, when it chooses to do so that means someone is about to die. (If it helps, think of his shadow as a Persona/Chain/Familiar)
personality
Ulysses is a very goal oriented man. His main goal is to entertain and be entertained by attracting people and creatures to his Nightmare Carnival. There is quite the sense of duality with both Ulysses and his Carnival; a mixture pleasantness and darkness. His words are alluring but yet have a hint of mystery about them. He is perfectly pleasant and boisterous though his warped logic and possible secondary goals give him knee-jerk reactions and decisions that come seemingly from nowhere. If you play the games, stay the course, and follow the rules, Ulysses will remain friendly and helpful with his slightly devilish laugh. Deviate from this and you will see his other side.
background
Precious little is known about Ulysses aside from what rumor has to tell. Legend speaks of a dark carnival which used to appear without warning for people to enjoy throughout the centuries. It would stay for awhile, entertain the masses and then leave just as suddenly without a trace never to be seen again. The only evidence of the carnival's presence was the memories of those who attended and the rather sharp decline of population from the surrounding area. No one knows how Ulysses came to be bound to a death-like figure. If any had discovered or were told, they surely did not leave the carnival with that knowledge...alive.
Though none but Ulysses and his shadow know this, the true purpose of the carnival is to leech off the life force of others so that their own lives may continue to be extended indefinitely. As the Nightmare Carnival has now landed in a universe which death can be harvested (as no one who dies here truly dies) who knows how long Ulysses will stay.

Name: Nightmare Carnival
Description: Ulysses has the ability to create and maintain a large bubble of reality. He can bend it entirely to his will... and I do mean entirely, however he is also trapped within it. As such he has used his knowledge to turn his own reality bubble into a creepy carnival to attract the curious and sadistic alike into his realm.

Name: Here's Your Prize
Description: If you win a game or are granted a prize at any point in the Nightmare Carnival, Ulysses has the ability to send your prize to the main RP. If you wish to have it manifest in your post then your prize would be seen as a medallion suddenly appearing before you shrouded in a lime green mist. Simply grasp the medallion and the power, weapon, whatever will be yours.

Name: Walking Cane
Description: Ulysses has a walking cane that he mostly uses to point to objects or simply walk around. He may occasionally try to whack someone in the head with it but it does practically no damage at all. It's just more of an annoyance than anything else.

Name: Ringleader's Whip
Description: Ulysses has a magical whip. It can be simply used as a whip to frighten or keep the attention of peoples and creatures. However, it also is used for games which require a change of scenery. One crack of the whip and everyone wishing to partake in the game is suddenly transported within the confines of that particular game.

Name: Instant Death
Description: Ulysses' Shadow is the personification of Death itself. As such there are some instances/games where he will be used. During these games if he makes a move against you, you will "die" by his hand, turn into a trophy and be forced to forfeit the remainder of that particular game. Ulysses is not a cheating and unfair man though. You do not need to "fear the reaper" at all times as Ulysses will explain in his instructions which games involve his shadow and the conditions which will trigger the shadow to move.
